"Murder on the Menu" Dinner Theatre

Updated: Mar 5, 2019

The Ocean Pines Yacht Club will serve up killer cuisine with a side of mystery and intrigue as it presents a "Murder on the Menu" dinner theater on Saturday, March 23.

In this audience-interactive show by Ovation Dinner Theatre, famous chefs and other personalities spoof the 37th Annual Yummy Awards. Will six-time winner Gina Cherry win again, or will someone else whisk the Golden Ladle from her? The paparazzi will be everywhere to capture you rubbing elbows with famous chefs such as “Julia Childers,” “Gordon Ramsickle” and even the Swedish Chef.

An eclectic menu created especially for this special event by the Yacht Club's culinary team will accompany the performance.

Doors will open for a cocktail hour with happy hour bar prices at 5 p.m. Dinner and the show will take place from 6-9 p.m.

The cost for the evening's entertainment is $60 per person, which includes a four-course dinner, show, tax and gratuity.

The menu will begin with starters including:

  • "Green with Envy": Spinach and crab dip in phyllo crisp

  • "Grapes of Wrath": Chilled Waldorf salad in endive crisp

  • "Fowl Play": Chicken Cordon Bleu balls tossed in a bloody beet BBQ

A "Tear Your Heart Out" salad course will follow consisting of shredded romaine hearts, artichoke hearts, pickled red onions, cherry tomatoes, slivered almonds and black olives "dressed to kill" in a blood orange vinaigrette.

Entree choices will include:

  • "Pork Shank": Slow-braised pork, brussels sprouts, pan jus and garlicky "cyanide" fries

  • "Hang Her Steak": Grilled hanger steak, "smashed fingers" potatoes, asparagus spears and blood & "gore"-gonzola cream

  • "Swimming with the Swordfishes": "Cement shoes" (creamy grits), roasted root vegetables with a "last breath" champagne cream sauce

  • "Chicken Cut-Let": Pounded herb chicken cutlet, asparagus spears and "smashed fingers" potatoes

The meal will wrap up with a sinfully rich "Death by Chocolate" cake.

Seating for this bloodcurdling performance is limited and reservations are required. Call 410-641-7501 to reserve your space.
